Making Water from the Air

Clean, cool, filtered water straight from the atmosphere

Multi-Gen ‘Water from Air’ machines

After seeing the MultiGen Solutions machines at the Polkadot festival in Noosa in 2018, Tiny Footprint have partnered with MultiGen Solutions to become a Victorian dealer and re-seller of the machines.

We have been using one of the WES30 machines over the summer and love the cool water it produces. Especially in a rural area using tank water and where water usage is always a topic of conversation around the BBQ on a Friday night, it is great to be able to produce your own water!

If you are interested in one of the machines in Victoria, let us know and we can talk to you about our experience with these great little machines.

For more detailed information Click Here and also go to the MultiGen website here to understand the amazing work they our doing at an industrial level to bring both water and food to many parts of the world with their advanced technology!

Tiny House Super Series – Book One: Super Greens’ Build Team

Tiny Footprint launch a children's book

The Tiny House movement has found many followers amongst adults who see advantages in ‘living tiny’ from an affordability, sustainability and lifestyle perspective. Many children are drawn to the small spaces, beautiful design and storybook quality of tiny houses.

To reach out to children and support their education in sustainability themes such as recycling, environmental awareness and using less resources, and themes such as valuing friends, family and the community, Tiny Footprint has decided to support a series of books based on the Tiny House movement.

The first book introduces Rosie and Ted and four Tiny House Builders called the Super Greens, who help Rosie and Ted in their task of building a Tiny House on Wheels for Ted. The Super Green characters all have roles to undertake and traits that help them with this. There are learning themes throughout the books, and the Super Greens motto of ‘with respect and love, we will pull through’ helps them through the difficult task of working together to bring their strengths to bear.

The books explains each Super Green character and their traits and engages the children through illustrations. At the end of the book there is a explanation for parents, guardians and educators on the themes of the book as well as a QR code to scan to access more information.

      Illustrator – Bunji Spillard

Bunji Spillard is a Melbourne based indigenous artist who is a carpenter by trade. She has learned her art skills from the amazing elders in her life and utilizes those teachings to fuel her paintings and drawings. She also enjoys working with wood and expressing her artistic talents through carving.

Author – Blaire Simpson

Blaire Simpson grew up in Diamond Creek, Victoria and is qualified in primary school and early childhood education.  She worked in education for six years, with a varied demographic of children from four to six years old. She has a passion for engaging with children and has read hundreds of stories to children during her time as a teacher. She has been working for the one family as a nanny since 2013 which has also enabled her to travel overseas, often interacting and reading stories with young children new to English.

Blaire and Bunji, have known each other since they were 12 years old and they have enjoyed the opportunity to work together and combine their knowledge and skills to write and illustrate this story together.

Blaire shares her work as a nanny with working with Ferne and Chris at Tiny Footprint, a tiny house building company. This presented her with the opportunity to write a series of children’s stories based around the themes common in the tiny house movement. With Blaire’s understanding of engaging children, Bunji’s artistic skills and Tiny Footprint’s love of encouraging a smaller footprint on the earth, their vision is to engage little people in living more sustainably.

ATHA Survey

ATHA Survey on the Australian Tiny House Movement

The Australian Tiny House Assocaition has a call to action for tiny house enthusiasts and dwellers within Australia. They ask you to:
1) share this survey with your tiny house friends
2) select the link and participate in the first Australian Tiny House Survey which closes 31st March 2019.

It takes 15 minutes for prospective or current dwellers including B&B owners, shorter for builders / DIY and those interested in tiny houses. Anyone in Australia can participate in the survey.

Why do the survey? :
Do we have 20 people residing in tiny homes on wheels or skids, or do we have 2,000 in Australia? Australia has little fact base information on Tiny House dwellers, prospective dwellers or builders / DIYs, or even those interested in tiny living and what their preferences are. ATHA want to commence creating fact base information on Australian Tiny Houses. This can be used to inform and influence government bodies, journalists, public speakers and give interested bodies a greater understanding of the tiny house community.

ATHA will then develop a report in July 2019 of the results. No detailed locations or names will be included. They would like more journalists and public speakers talking to fact vs perception.

ATHA will publish periodically via the ATHA social media sites how many surveys have been completed and let’s see if this surpass 1,000.

Thank you for participating!

Water from the Atmosphere Machine

Tiny Footprint have partnered with MultiGen Solutions in Victoria to bring you their Air Water Makers. These machines use the latest technology to extract atmospheric water from the air. The WES 30 and WES 60 machines produce cool, filtered water and keep that water cool throughout the day. It is dispensed into your glass at the press of a button.

The system patented by the manufacturer MultiGen Solutions increases the efficiency of energy use which makes other systems prohibitively expensive to run.  The Water Makers include a cut off, allowing the machine to stop when levels of humidity are too low to allow the machine to work efficiently.

The machines are ideal for home use or a community area such as a school, library or community centre. Contact info@tinyfootprint.com.au for more information.
